How to Make Homemade Granola: A Step-by-Step Guide

Granola is a healthy and delicious breakfast option that you can easily make at home. Not only does homemade granola taste better than store-bought, but it's also cheaper and you can customize it to your liking. In this step-by-step guide, we will show you how to make homemade granola that's crunchy, flavorful, and packed with wholesome ingredients.

To make homemade granola, you will need:

- 3 cups of rolled oats
- 1 cup of chopped nuts (such as almonds, pecans, or walnuts)
- 1 cup of unsweetened coconut flakes
- 1/4 cup of honey
- 1/4 cup of coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- Optional add-ins: dried fruits, chocolate chips, or cinnamon.

1. Preheat your oven to 300°F.

2. In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, chopped nuts, and coconut flakes.

3. In a small saucepan, warm the honey, coconut oil, vanilla extract, and salt over low heat until everything is melted and well combined.

4. Pour the warm honey mixture over the oat mixture and stir until everything is evenly coated.

5. Spread the mixture on a large rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the granola is golden brown.

7. Remove the granola from the oven and let it cool completely on the baking sheet. As it cools, it will become crunchy.

8. Once the granola is cool, stir in any additional add-ins you would like.

9. Store the granola in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.

- Make sure to use unsweetened coconut flakes to keep the granola from getting too sweet.
- You can use any type of nuts you like in your granola. Just make sure to chop them into smaller pieces so they bake evenly.
- If you prefer your granola clumpy, add an extra 1/4 cup of honey and press the mixture firmly onto the baking sheet before baking.
- Feel free to customize your granola with any add-ins you like. Dried fruits, chocolate chips, or cinnamon are all great options.
