Safari is the default web browser on iOS devices and is widely used by iPhone and iPad users. With the following tips and tricks, you can make the most of Safari and browse the web more efficiently.
Use the Smart Search Bar
The Smart Search Bar in Safari on iOS allows you to search the web or enter a web address. You can also search your bookmarks, browsing history, and open tabs by tapping the relevant icons. You can also use the Smart Search Bar to perform calculations, check the weather, and see stock prices.
To use the Smart Search Bar, simply tap on it at the top of the Safari screen and start typing your search query.
Use Reader View
Reader View is a handy feature in Safari that removes ads, menus, and other distractions from a web page to make it easier to read. It also increases font size and adjusts the layout for a more pleasant reading experience. You can enable Reader View by tapping on the Reader icon at the left of the URL bar. If the icon is grayed out, it means Reader View is not available for that page.
Add Websites to Home Screen
If you visit a website frequently, you can add it to your Home screen for quick access. This is a useful feature for websites such as social media, news, or productivity apps. To add a website to your Home screen, tap on the Share icon at the bottom of the screen and select "Add to Home Screen." You can customize the name and icon of the website before adding it.
Use Tab Management Tools
Safari on iOS lets you have multiple tabs open at once. To switch between tabs, swipe left or right on the tab bar. You can also close a tab by swiping it off the screen or tapping on the X at the top of the tab.
If you have too many tabs open, you can use the Tab Groups feature to organize them into categories. To create a new tab group, tap on the Tab View button at the bottom-right of the screen and tap on "New Tab Group." You can drag and drop tabs into the new group and give it a name. Tab Groups are synced across all your iOS devices using iCloud.
Enable Content Blockers
Content Blockers are extensions in Safari that can block ads, pop-ups, and other unwanted content on web pages. They can speed up page loading times and make browsing the web more pleasant. To enable Content Blockers, go to Settings > Safari > Content Blockers and toggle on any blockers you have installed.
