7 Ways to Keep Your Pet Entertained

Pets are part of our families, and like children, they need to be kept entertained. Bored pets can become destructive, anxious, and even depressed. Fortunately, there are many ways to keep your pet happy and mentally stimulated. Here are seven ways to keep your pet entertained.

Interactive Toys

Interactive toys are a great way to keep pets entertained. When you’re not home, your pet can play with toys that spin, wobble, or make noise. For example, puzzle feeders or treat-dispensing toys can keep your pet busy for hours.

Play Time with You

Your pet loves spending time with you. Take some time out of your day to play with your pet. Play fetch, hide-and-seek or try new games. Dogs love to play tug of war, chase, and wrestling. Cats love to chase laser pointers, string, and feather toys.

Exercise

Pets, like humans, need exercise to stay healthy. Exercise also provides mental stimulation for your pet. Make sure your pet gets plenty of exercise, whether it’s in the form of walks, runs, or playtime.

Training

Training is an excellent way to keep your pet mentally stimulated. Teaching your dog new tricks, commands, or obedience training sessions is an excellent way to bond and entertain them.

Window View

A Window view is an excellent way to keep your pet amused. It allows your pet to enjoy the outdoors, view other animals and birds, and watch the world go by. If you’re not home, consider installing a bird feeder near a window to give your pet something to watch.

Music and TV

Music and TV can provide a great distraction for pets when you're not around. Classical music has a relaxing effect on pets, and some pets enjoy watching TV shows designed for them.

Socializing

Pets crave social interaction, and socialization with other animals and people can keep them entertained and mentally stimulated. Take your dog to the dog park, arrange playdates with other Pets, or hire a pet sitter to take your pet for a walk and visit.
