5 Hidden iOS Features You Probably Never Knew

Apple's iOS operating system is known for its user-friendly interface and intuitive design. But beyond the common features, there are several hidden iOS features that most users are unaware of. Here are 5 iOS features that you probably never knew existed.

1. Shake to Undo

Did you just accidentally delete a message, email, or a note that you spent hours jotting down? No worries, there's a way to undo it. Just give your iPhone a quick shake and a pop-up message will appear asking if you want to undo your previous action. This feature works in most iOS apps, including Notes, Mail, and Messages.

2. Custom Keyboard Shortcuts

If you find yourself typing the same phrases over and over again, iOS allows you to create custom keyboard shortcuts. Simply go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Text Replacement and add your custom shortcut. For example, you can assign 'omw' to automatically expand to 'On my way!'.

3. Hidden Level Tool

Did you know that your iPhone has a hidden level tool? This tool uses the built-in accelerometer to measure the level of a surface. To access it, open the Compass app and swipe left. The level tool will appear and you can use it to ensure that your pictures and shelves are perfectly level.

4. Search Your Texts

If you're looking for a specific message among hundreds of texts, you can use the search feature in iOS. In the Messages app, swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal the search bar. Type in the keyword or phrase that you're looking for and iOS will return the relevant texts.

5. Emergency SOS

In case of an emergency, you can use the SOS feature to quickly call for help. On iPhone 8 or later, press and hold the side button and one of the volume buttons until the Emergency SOS slider appears. Slide it to call emergency services. On iPhone 7 or earlier, rapidly press the side button five times to activate the Emergency SOS feature.
