Starting your day on an energetic note is crucial for a productive day ahead. What could be a better way to fuel your mind, body, and soul than indulging in a quick morning yoga routine? Here’s a 10-minute yoga routine that will help you kickstart your day with a positive outlook.
Mountain Pose or Tadasana
Begin by standing at the top of your mat with your feet hip-width apart. Press all four corners of your feet into the ground and elongate your spine, lifting your tailbone towards the sky. With your palms together at your heart center, take a deep inhale and exhale.
Downward Facing Dog or Adho Mukha Svanasana
From mountain pose, straighten your legs and lift your hips up, creating a V-shape with your body. Press your hands down on the mat, and remember to keep your shoulders away from your ears. Stay in this pose for at least five breaths.
Warrior I or Virabhadrasana I
Take a step towards your right, and with your left foot, pivot it to face inwards. Your back foot should be at a 45-degree angle. Raise your arms up and bend your right knee, creating a lunge-like pose. Hold this pose for 5 deep breaths before switching sides.
Tree Pose or Vrikshasana
Stand with both feet firmly planted on the mat. Slowly, take your weight onto your left foot and place your right foot on your left thigh. Bring your hands in a prayer position at your heart center and breathe for five breaths. Repeat on the other side.
Child’s Pose or Balasana
Sit on your heels, stretch your arms in front of you, and lower your head to the ground, creating a pose of surrender. Stay in this pose for at least five deep breaths. This pose calms the mind and prepares you for the day ahead.
